EXHIBITING OPPORTUNITY
Located in the center of Arlington, a sprawling and diverse suburban city in the center of Dallas and Fort Worth, the Dan Dipert Career + Technical Center provides real-world training, certification, and opportunity to students across the city. VLK Experience Design worked with Arlington ISD and VLK Architects to craft the narrative of “Exhibiting Opportunity” by using films to showcase the design process, creating interior and exterior graphics and wayfinding, and developing branding guidelines.
Tying it all together
Opportunity is on display everywhere in this building, in a very literal way. Our branding / graphics team harnessed this and created the tagline “Exhibiting Opportunity” to assist in pushing the design to the community. As the walls are mostly glass, we developed a wayfinding system in the facility using a series of colored diagonal lines, based on the zone a student or visitor is in at the time. Large wall graphics were also built to guide and inspire students as they move through the facility. In an effort to help the client retain brand continuity, a clear and precise set of brand guidelines was distributed digitally to staff, ensuring the brand stayed consistent for years to come.
