HKS/VLK Architects Team Receives Recommendation from Katy ISD For Voter-Approved Second Stadium

HOUSTON -The Katy IndependentSchoolDistricthas recommended HKS, in partnership with, VLK Architects as the new architect for the voter-approved second stadium. The proposed $58 million dollar stadium complex will be built adjacent to Rhodes Stadium, contain 12,000 seats, a press box, restrooms, concessions, field house and approximately 4,000 parking spots.

'We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the district in delivering quality educational environments for the citizens of Katy during this time of tremendous growth in the district and surrounding area.'

With the approval of the $748 million bond, the districts trending growth will be addressed with 9,000 new classroom seats, six new campuses and renovations to 43 facilities. VLK Architects has worked on many past Katy ISD projects that have included The New Katy High School West Campus, New Baseball Facilities at Katy and Taylor High Schools as well as additions and renovations to numerous Katy ISD facilities since 2002.
